Forum Overview

The Steering Committee welcomes a diverse group of up to 48 arbitrators from key centers across the world. Participants are experienced, confident practitioners who work primarily as arbitrators. This Forum provides an opportunity to discuss openly and honestly on pressing issues, learn how others address these topics, and identify solutions in a collegial, thought-provoking environment that fosters a unique closeness of networking.

Admitted to practice in Zambia since 2004, he has dedicated his career to the legal industry. Operating from a private practice perspective, he acts as external General Counsel for clients across diverse sectors, including mining, energy, banking and financial services, telecommunications, insurance, pensions, manufacturing, construction, tourism, transport, and both public and not-for-profit organizations. His expertise lies in corporate advisory and commercial dispute resolution.

In his advisory capacity, he specializes in mining, energy, international commercial law, international human rights law, competition, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, employment and labor matters, corporate insolvency, and public-private partnerships. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) and a Master of Laws Degree (LLM) in International Commercial Law, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Law with a focus on public-private partnerships (PPP) and dispute resolution. He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), a Notary Public of the Republic of Zambia, and a certified corporate insolvency practitioner in Zambia.

Regarding dispute resolution, he possesses competencies in civil litigation, with significant experience in both domestic and international commercial litigation. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (FCIArb), he has served as both sole and co-arbitrator, and as counsel, in various domestic and international disputes pertaining to construction, shareholder matters, mining, and public procurement. His experience encompasses UNCITRAL, ICC, and ICSID Arbitrations. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Zambia Branch Committee, a member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), a listed Neutral of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre, and a member of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London Arbitration and Mediation Centre (SADRC). Additionally, he is an International Affiliate Member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and a member of its ADR and Arbitration Committees. He is also a member of the African Arbitration Association (AfAA).

He has previously and currently holds various board positions within Statutory, local, and regional corporate and non-governmental organizations. He is the Vice Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Managing Partner and principal of Kaumbu Mwondela Legal Practitioners.

Prior to joining Cambridge Forums, Jessica worked in conference management, specializing in executive events for C-Suite executives, Board members and VIP clients. A fluid communicator, Jessica utilizes her leadership skills and passion for creating flawless participant experiences as a Forum Director, focusing on programs in private wealth and antitrust. A food & wine aficionado, Jessica is also accredited with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wine & Spirits. 

When she’s out of the office, Jessica enjoys hot yoga, skiing and travel.
