International Privacy Law

Simon Hania has been a leader at the crossroads of telecommunication and information technology, business and regulatory affairs for over 15 years. Simon currently is VP Privacy & Security at TomTom, ensuring the company to globally meet the growing expectations of customers and the increasing regulatory demands with respect to privacy & security. Simon focuses on connected, automated & autonomous vehicles and wearable technologies. By many, he is considered to be a privacy & security thought leader in the space of Internet of Things, Cloud and Big Data.

Previously at TomTom, Simon was responsible for Technical Operations of Service Delivery, including TomTom Traffic and other location-based services. Before TomTom, Simon held various positions in the telecommunications industry, the last being CTO at XS4ALL, the premier internet service provider in the Netherlands.

Cecilia Álvarez Rigaudias is the EMEA Privacy Policy Director at Facebook since March 2019. From 2015 to 2019, she served as European Privacy Officer Lead of Pfizer, Vice-Chair of the EFPIA Data Protection Group and Chairwoman of IPPC-Europe. For an interim period, she was also the Legal Lead of the Spanish Pfizer subsidiaries. She formerly worked 18 years in a reputed Spanish law firm, leading the data protection, IT and ecommerce areas of practice as well as the LATAM Data Protection Working Group.

Cecilia was the Chairwoman of APEP (Spanish Privacy Professional Association) until June and currently in charge of its international affairs. She is also the Spanish member of CEDPO (Confederation of European Data Protection Organisations) and member of the Leadership Council of The Sedona Conference (W-6).

She is a member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation in the section of the Law on Technologies of the Information and the Knowledge as well as Arbitrator of the European Association of Arbitration (ITC section).

She formed part of the Volunteer Group of Privacy Experts of the OECD (Working Party on Information Security and Privacy; WPISP) in charge of the 2013 review of the OECD guidelines governing the protection of privacy and transborder data flows of personal data. She formerly participated in the Group of Experts selected by the Spanish DPA to prepare the Madrid Resolution on International Privacy Standards in 2009.

Cecilia has written numerous publications on data protection and regularly lectures on data protection, IT and e-commerce at different Master’s programmes and seminars.

William Malcolm works with Google’s product and engineering teams globally on a range of product design and privacy compliance issues. Prior to joining Google in March 2011, Malcolm was a leading member of the Pinsent Masons Privacy and Information Law Practice, where he advised a range of clients on privacy program management and day-to-day compliance and commercial privacy issues.

Malcolm is a frequent speaker at conferences and industry events on EU privacy issues.

Monika Tomczak-Gorlikowska is the Chief Privacy Officer of Prosus, which is a global consumer internet group and one of the largest technology investors in the world. Headquartered in the Netherlands, the Group’s businesses serve customers in more than 90 markets. Previously, Monika has been the Senior Data Privacy Legal Counsel with Shell International Limited and has practiced data privacy law for more than 20 years.

Monika is a licensed attorney (adwokat) and has also been in private practice with the offices of Miller, Canfield in Poland. In addition to the law studies, she has also received a Master of European Law degree (LLM cum laude) from the Law Department of the College of Europe in Brugge (Belgium). Monika also currently serves as a member of the European Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the Steering Committee of the Forum on International Privacy Law. Monika has also worked for the Legal Service of the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU in Brussels. Monika is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Dr. Anna Zeiter is Associate General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer / Data Protection Officer at eBay Inc. Before joining eBay in 2014, Anna had been working as a lawyer for two international law firms in Germany (DLA Piper and Norton Rose Fulbright), specializing in data protection, IT and eCommerce law. Before working as an attorney Anna Zeiter did her Ph.D. in the field of free speech and media law at the University of Hamburg, she also holds an LL.M. in Law, Science & Technology from Stanford Law School. Anna Zeiter is regularly giving speeches at international data protection conferences and teaches at several international universities. In 2020, Anna had been appointed as a member of the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) Board of Directors and as a Committee Member of the Global Tech DPO Network in Ireland. Besides that, Anna is a member of the Digital Transformations Working Group of the WEF (World Economic Forum), co-leading the workstream Business of Data & Data Valuation.

Kate has a background in social services where she treated youth with complex mental health and addictions issues. Her role involved developing detailed, treatment-focused program plans and seeing them through to completion. Kate brings many years of experience in the service industry to her role at Cambridge Forums. In her spare time, Kate enjoys good food and wine, all things true-crime related, and dance parties with her kids.

Rob has been working in the professional development field since 1979, when he founded Insight Information Inc. Since then, he has been active in developing various conferences, seminars, as well as interactive television and publishing projects. In 2004, Rob founded Cambridge Forums Inc. to meet the professional growth needs of top-tier professionals and was instrumental in developing the exclusive forum format. Today, as Chairman of the firm, Rob focuses on strategy and spearheading new forums. In his spare time, he spends as much time as possible at his country home north of Toronto with his wife and four adult children.
