The Steering Committee welcomes up to 44 experienced private equity in-house lawyers and elite-level private practice advisors from across Europe and the UK who are proficient in the negotiation, structuring and execution of private equity mergers & acquisitions.
Using candid, seminar-style discussions participants share the most pressing issues they are facing, as well as, examine trends and developments across jurisdictions to learn how others address problems and work together to identify solutions.
This elite group, comprised of experts in the field, personally nominates all invitees and develops the Agenda, which forms the basis of our discussions.
Matt joined CVC in 2011. Matt is a Managing Director in the legal team and is based in London. Prior to joining CVC, he worked at CMS in London and Moscow as an Associate in the Corporate Department, specialising in M&A. Matt holds a Joint Honours Degree in French and German from the University of Leeds and is admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Paul Dali is a Managing Director and Group General Counsel, M&A and Investments at EQT. Paul joined EQT in 2013 and is based at the Stockholm office. Prior to joining EQT, Paul worked as an M&A lawyer at law firms Vinge and Linklaters, in Stockholm, Sweden.
Paul holds an LLM (Master of Laws) from the University of Stockholm, Sweden.
Daniel is Managing Director & Associate General Counsel at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP). OTPP is Canada’s largest single-profession pension plan, with C$242.5 billion in net assets. It holds a diverse global portfolio of assets, approximately 80% of which is managed in-house, with over C$30bn billion in the EMEA region.
Daniel specialises in international M&A and supports OTPP’s Equities, Infrastructure & Natural Resources and Venture/Growth teams on transactions and portfolio management across the EMEA region.
Prior to joining OTPP in 2018, Daniel spent six years at Latham & Watkins in London. He holds an honours degree in Law with German Law and Language and a diploma in legal practice from Nottingham Law School. He is qualified to practise in England and Wales.
Seda Yalçınkaya is an experienced general counsel with deep sector exposure in technology and financial services. She is currently General Counsel for Europe and Asia at Apollo Global Management, based in London. Prior to joining Apollo, from 2011 until 2019, Ms. Yalçınkaya was the EMEA General Counsel at Silver Lake. Prior to that, Ms. Yalçınkaya was at Citigroup, where she acted as a Director and Deputy General Counsel at Citi Capital Advisors, based in London, focusing on emerging markets private equity investments, and the Deputy Head of M&A Legal for Citigroup, in which role she advised Citi’s senior management on proprietary M&A transactions spanning the finance sector. Ms. Yalçınkaya started her legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, focusing on M&A, private equity and leveraged finance transactions. Ms. Yalçınkaya holds an A.B. from Harvard University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School, and is qualified to practice law in New York and in England and Wales.
Emma is Senior Forum Director and Financial Services Lead at Cambridge Executive Connections (CEC), a subsidiary of Cambridge Forums, Inc. Naturally curious and a lifelong learner, Emma has developed and managed a variety of meetings in both the profit and non-profit sectors. Before joining Cambridge, Emma was Assistant Vice President, Global Marketing at State Street in Canada, where she spent close to two decades of her career, offering her a great depth of knowledge and understanding of the financial and investment sectors. In Emma’s current role, she leads CEC’s Financial Services portfolio, including programs for institutional investors, banking, private funds, risk, and governance professionals.
